Erik Janssen (1966) studied music at the conservatory of Amsterdam, specialising in performance and conducting. During his time at the conservatory, he studied the trumpet under the guidance of Peter Masseurs, principal trumpet player of the Royal Concertgebouw orchestra and conducting with Danny Oosterman.
Erik was chosen as the 4barsrest band conductor of the year in 2016. He was the first foreign conductor to win the Grand Shield competition in blackpool in 2016. He is well known for his inspirational and positive approach, and musical performances. His international career gave him the opportunity to work with great bands as, Withburn band in Scotland, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band, Yorkshire, Paris Brassband in France, Manger Musikklag Norway, Jaren Hornmusikkforening Norway, Verao Amizade Portugal, Brassband Öberooosterreich in Austria, Ensemble de Cuivre Valaisan from Switserland, Woodfalls Brassband England.

Eb Cornet Player, SHOULD STICK THE GUM UP HIS ASS, very very distracting, it takes away from an outstanding group of musicians.
Dit is GOUD uit de zilverstad! Wat een sublieme helse prestatie. Wat een top stel muzikanten. Allemaal op de punt van de stoel solist of niet. Echt een prestatie en een compliment voor de dirigent die dit stuk “ er in” heeft weten te krijgen.

@@ErikJanssen an american marching music ensemble called the santa clara vanguard (scv) performed it as part of their 2019 show, 'vox eversio.' they got 3rd at the drum corps world championships (DCI) this past week. their rendition of this piece while moving all over the field was awesome, i highly recommend you check it out if you're unfamiliar! (i hope you can find it.) you guys sounded great by the way, very cool to hear this version as well.
